Pumpkin Patch!

We had such a fun time at the MacDonald's Ranch Pumpkin Patch. We had an entire week off, so we went during the week and there weren't a lot of people at all which was nice. We had a semi-private hay ride to the pumpkin patch, didn't have to wait in any lines for any type of photo opportunities, the petting zoo wasn't busy at all, and Scott was able to go through the hay maze all by himself. It was a blast even though it was a little bit warm.

Phoenix Zoo

We got a zoo membership and since Scott and I both took the week off we went on a little zoo adventure. It was a lot of fun and the weather wasn't too warm either. Keira made special friends with one of the baboons who loved her and of course she had several other photo ops with the animals.

This is how we eat

Girl loves her food, especially sweet potatoes. She's picked up a few tips from the dogs as well. Meal time is definitely a messy time.

McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park

One of Scott's high school friends invited me to her Mommies & Monkeys group, which has been a lot of fun. It's been great to meet some other moms and get out of the house so Keira can play. we meet once a month and since we thought the weather was going to be a little cooler in mid-October we planned to meet at the Railroad Park with a Halloween theme. Well, it was 98 that afternoon. We still had a lot of fun even though it was hot. Keira got to play with Cooper, Bradley, Brooklyn and Rory. She had a blast as a ballerina!

Ready for our train ride!

iPhone 4S!

It was August 2008 when I got my first iPhone 3G. Yes, you read that correctly...I said 2008! When I was eligible for a new phone in 2010 they had just released the iPhone 4 and I was going to get that but my phone was working fine and Scott was a year behind me on his upgrade so I figured I could wait. Well January came around and my phone was freezing up all the time, would run out of battery, would take forever to pull up an app (I mean minutes) so I couldn't really use most of my apps at all. It was a good time. At that point though I was thinking the new iPhone would be coming out in June, so I could wait 6 months. June came and went and then the rumor was August then September then October. When would it end? It's like I didn't even know what a phone could do anymore at a high speed.

Finally my wait was over. I actually set my alarm for 11:55pm to preorder. Yes, I was that fool. Preordering was supposed to open at midnight, but it wasn't actually available until 12:35a. Yes, I was at the computer for that long waiting and waiting. Then due to demand I kept waiting. I got to a certain screen several times (mind you I needed to order 3 separate phones and go through the entire process 3 times) but it just kept loading and loading. So, I ultimately went to the AT&T site to preorder. I got there and got an error. What?!?! It was now about 1:45am. I was exhausted, would be waking up in four hours, and already wasn't feeling fabulous. And now I couldn't preorder the new phone I so desperately needed. Resigned, I went to sleep.

I woke up right at 6:00AM and went back to the AT&T site to find the number it told me to call. To do this I had to go through the preorder process again because I didn't have the number in my phone and with my corporate discount I am a premier customer. Yeah, I'm a pretty big deal. Anyway, as I was going through the process again to find the premier number it actually went through!! OMG! I was so excited. Must have been an error due to so many people preordering. So, I preordered all 3 phones and could only hope that they would arrive on the release date of the 14th!

I can't even tell you how fast I moved when the doorbell rang at precisely 12:47pm on Friday afternoon. I got my phone all set up and ready to go within 15 minutes. It's truly amazing how fast it works. I'm so not used to these speeds and I can't stop looking at it and going to apps. I can actually go to apps now. Plus I have Siri which is awesome. I've asked Siri so many questions, set reminders, set calendar appointments, replied to texts and more. It's so fun. Siri did talk back to me once though. My mom was in the car with me Friday afternoon and she hadn't been able to set up her new phone yet, so I was asking Siri to set me a reminder to take out the trash when I got home. Since Siri uses GPS she just knows these things. This is how she answered. "I'm sorry. I have no idea who you are. In fact, I know nothing about you." Yep, as I'm trying to show off she just talked back to me. Needless to say I made sure she knew who I was going forward. And when I set my reminder again it worked!! I love my new phone. It was well worth the wait.

Daycare

This little lady is old enough for daycare! We've actually been extremely lucky that we haven't had to take her to daycare until now. In actuality the daycare center we wanted to take her to wouldn't actually take her until she was six months so we were in quite a bind on what to do. My mom very graciously devoted several days a week to watch her on her days off work. A really great family friend, "Grandma Diane," also graciously devoted one day a week to watch her, and then we had a babysitter come in the other day so I could actually do my job.

So, she is now old enough to go to daycare and has been going for a couple weeks now. She doesn't actually go every day, which is nice, as my mom still watches her a couple days a week. What we've learned, however, is that Keira is a toy thief. That's part of the report card we got after the first day. Though it was super cute when I went to pick her up and she was sitting on the floor with a friend playing with toys and talking. It was adorable to see her interact with others. Of course the ladies at the learning center are amazing as well.Of course going to daycare means getting sick. After just two days at daycare our little lady got sick for the first time. It was so sad. It was also pretty funny too the way it happened. Scott picked Keira up from daycare and she seemed to be fine. I got home about 10 minutes after Scott did and picked her up. She had this little cough that sounded like her fake cough that she kept doing and we didn't think anything of it. Scott went outside to take Koa out and I was giving her a bottle to tide her over until bedtime in a couple hours. She started coughing again and I lifted her up to sit. That's when she threw up for the first time...all over the rug. Well, Roxy who is part of the clean up crew came running over to help out. It was at that time Keira threw up again...this time all over Roxy considering she was right underneath us. Then Koa came running in to check out the commotion and he began to clean Roxy up. They were so considerate. Poor little lady though. Her eyes were all red and it was just so sad. She still slept really well though. It only took her a day to get over it and she was back at daycare on Friday. At that time both Scott and I proceeded to get sick though Scott had it a lot worse than I did. He was throwing up several times. Yuck!

So, besides that little episode she is loving daycare and having fun with her new friends.

Here's the little lady enjoying playing some guitar with her daddy. She actually climbed into his lap to get like that so she could be in on the action. So cute! How could you not love that face.
